travel smart

SKYSCANNER
http://www.skyscanner.es

Use SkyScanner to book flights. You'll find pretty cheap flights here to anywhere in europe. (50 euros- 250 euros)
- RyanAir, Vueling are two popular airlines that you'll find your self on a lot
- BUY A NECK PILLOW! these a very small, VERY tight, very uncomfortable planes rides... good thing you can fly almost anywhere in Europe in about 2 hours or less!
- Look up the size for the bag you're aloud to bring on. You can only bring ONE carry on. Girls, this means purse INSIDE of your already stuffed to the rim, way too small bag. They will not make exceptions for bags that are too big and will absolutely not hesitate to make you pay 70 euros if you bag doesn't fit in the STUPID BOX they bring around to measure your bag.
- TIP: Soft bags and travel backpacks are so much easier than hard shell/roller bags. You can and you WILL find your self stuffing your backpack in the box to make it fit… having to wear five layers of shirts and sweatpants over your jeans.

BE PREPARED
- Look up your hostels address, how to get there from the airport, types of transportation (metro, taxi, bus options) ahead of time.  (I repeat, AHEAD OF TIME!!!!)… or you'll end up absolutely lost staring at a map with no clue in hell where to go from there.
- You will learn to cherish every minute you have with WiFi because you’ll basically ever have it. WIFI = HOLY GRAIL.
-So try to get all of this prepared before you go on your trip and it’ll save you so much time and trouble. Be prepared for a lot a lot a lot of public transportation, rushing to make your flight, very little sleep, and if any sleep.. its shitty sleep on tiny planes, flight attendants people trying to sell you stuff while your TRYING to sleep, uncomfortable bus rides, paying for taxis.
-Become familiar with what type of money they use and the currency exchange. DO NOT PANIC when the waiter hands you a bill asking for 800 Czech Koruna. This does not mean 800 dollars.
- use Student Tour companies like Bus2Apls for some of your trips. Best decision I ever made for my Greek Island Hopping Spring Break Trip
